Five Screens. One Complete Park Day.

Every feature exists because families asked for it while standing in the wrong line.

The Problem

A family of four spends $6,000+ on a Walt Disney World vacation. Then they spend half of it standing in line.

  • Wait times change constantly — what was 15 minutes becomes 60 after a parade ends
  • Lightning Lane rules are confusing and most guests miss optimal booking windows
  • No existing app combines wait times, dining, maps, and routing into one place
  • Plans fall apart mid-day and there's no way to adapt without pulling out a spreadsheet
  • Parents juggle five apps while wrangling kids through 25,000-acre theme parks

What We Built

Rope Drop Hero is a native Swift/SwiftUI app with five core tabs, each solving a specific in-park problem. The AI concierge — Park Ranger — uses real-time park data to answer natural language questions and reroute your day on the fly.

  • Base Camp — trip dashboard with live weather, reservation tracking, and checklist progress
  • Wait Times — live wait data for every ride across all four parks with sort, filter, and favorites
  • Map — interactive park map with color-coded wait-time pins that update in real time
  • Park Ranger — AI concierge that answers context-aware questions like "how do I avoid the parade route?"
  • Profiles — multi-guest support so the whole family's preferences travel together

Park Ranger: A Custom-Trained Disney AI Agent

Most theme park apps show you data. Park Ranger interprets it. Ask "what's the fastest way from Space Mountain to Tiana's without hitting the parade?" and it responds with turn-by-turn routing that accounts for real-time crowd patterns, blocked pathways, and attraction proximity.

Park Ranger isn't a ChatGPT wrapper — it's a purpose-built AI agent trained on continuously updated Disney knowledge: park geography, show schedules, ride mechanics, seasonal events, dining menus, and real-time operational data. The knowledge base updates daily through automated ingestion pipelines. You can't get this information from a generic chatbot because the model has been fine-tuned specifically for Walt Disney World.

Data That Moves With You

The Wait Times tab pulls live data for every open attraction — 26 rides at Magic Kingdom alone — and displays current wait, operating status, height requirements, and accessibility tags in a scannable card layout. The average wait badge at the top gives an instant read on how crowded the park is right now.

The Map tab takes the same data and plots it spatially. Color-coded pins (green for short waits, gold for medium, purple for long) let you spot opportunities at a glance. Tap a pin to see full ride details. Filter by category — attractions, dining, entertainment — to cut the noise.

Technology

A native iOS app built in Swift and SwiftUI with a Supabase backend for auth, data sync, and edge functions. Park Ranger is a custom-trained AI agent with WebRTC for low-latency voice conversation — trained on proprietary Disney knowledge that updates daily through automated ingestion pipelines. Live wait-time data is scraped, normalized, and served through a dedicated API layer with PostgreSQL storage.
